Maine Medical Partners Lakes Region Primary Care is seeking an Internal Medicine-Pediatrics or Family Medicine trained physician for their well-established outpatient practice located in Windham, just outside the greater Portland, Maine area.  Candidates will be joining 4 Internal Medicine-Pediatrics physicians, 1 Pediatrician, and 2 advanced practice providers.  Outpatient call only, with no attendance at deliveries or hospital call required.

This well established practice has been in the Windham community for almost 20 years and is part of Maine Medical Center’s Internal Medicine-Pediatrics residency program, with opportunities to teach Medicine-Pediatric Residents and medical students.

Maine Medical Center has 637 licensed beds and is the state’s leading tertiary care hospital and Level I Trauma Center, with a full complement of residencies and fellowships and an integral part of Tufts University Medical School. The candidate would have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine, and the position involves teaching and mentoring residents and medical students from the Maine Medical Center-Tufts University School of Medicine Medical School Program.

The combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics residency program at Maine Medical Center provides optimal, comprehensive training to prepare internist-pediatricians for a broad array of career options including primary care, subspecialty fellowships, research, hospitalist medicine, and academic medicine.  

The successful candidate will be employed by Maine Medical Partners (MMP), a subsidiary of Maine Medical Center and Maine’s largest multi-specialty group.  MMP serves the health care needs of patients throughout Maine and Northern New England.  This high quality team of more than 500 physicians and 150 advanced practice professionals provides a wide range of hospital based, primary, specialty, and sub-specialty adult and pediatric care delivered throughout a network of 30 locations across the State and acts as a regional referral network.

Windham is the largest town in the Sebago Lake Region and represents the diversity and character expected of a community 10 miles west of Portland, Maine's largest city.  The area is ideal for outdoor sports and recreation, offering hiking, boating, agricultural fairs and festivals, ice fishing and snowmobiling.  North Windham is a major population center with over 250 businesses and 1,500 homes within a three square mile area. This gateway to the Sebago Lakes and White Mountains boasts a combination of small business as well as national firms for local and seasonal customers.
