 Job Description
ThedaCare, an integrated health system, located in Northeastern Wisconsin, seeks a BC/BE Family Practice or Internal Medicine physician to provide part-time weekend coverage at Riverside Medical Center, a 25-bed critical access hospital. A 12-hour shift is available from 7 pm on Saturday evening through 7 am on Sunday morning.

This position is responsible for ER Admissions and general care to hospitalized patients, rounding on patients in the hospital, discharging patients, assisting with any surgeries and possibly fielding calls from area nursing homes. OB coverage will not be required. The average daily inpatient census is twelve (12). This position will partner with a dedicated and highly qualified medical staff. ThedaCare Physicians - Waupaca is comprised of eleven primary care providers and two general surgeons.

Community Overview
Though the city's 2003 population was estimated at 5,794, much of the area's population lives outside the city limits in surrounding townships. This is partially due to the beauty of the surrounding countryside, but also because the popular Waupaca Chain of Lakes lies in the Towns of Farmington and Dayton. Long a favorite vacation spot, Waupaca is rich in specialty shops, comfortable restaurants, golf courses and outdoor activities. The Waupaca area supports a service area of over 30,000 people within a 15 mile radius of the city.

Waupaca is the Waupaca County seat. It is also the site of the Wisconsin Veterans Home, a 750-bed nursing and residential facility for state residents (and some spouses) who have served in our nation's armed forces.

The Waupaca area also features strong industrial and service components. Existing industries include a large foundry, food processing, specialty paper production, publishing, horse trailers and more. Service industries include county and city government, schools, medical, nursing, tourism, banking, dining and shopping.

    Hospital Overview
    Riverside Medical Center is a 25-bed, critical access hospital serving Waupaca and surrounding communities. Riverside Medical Center affiliated with ThedaCare in 2006, and together this committment is stengthening local care in a way that improves local access and enhances services in the community. Riverside Medical Center recently completed a $9.2 million dollar expansion and renovation. State of the art Emergency Department, newly remolded, averages 12,000 visits per year. Services include Surgery, OB,Med/Surg, special care unit, rehab and ancillary services. Four major trauma rooms, 4 minor exam rooms. Portable CT, ultrasound and fluoroscopy. 24 hour radiology coverage.
