Description |
In Eden, TX: Texas Association of Community Health Centers is seeking a full-time Family Medicine Physician to provide preventative and primary medical care for patients in a friendly community health setting in Concho and Menard Counties.
Job Overview:
- Provides quality primary health care for treatment of a variety of medical conditions to a community-based patient population that is diverse in age, educational background and income level
- Provide general physical examinations and makes medical evaluations to diagnose and treat a variety of medical illnesses and diseases
- Analyzes test findings and processes all "normal" and "abnormal" lab results
- Administers appropriate treatment plans and prescribes medications to treat the patient's medical condition
- Promote health among patients by advising patients on diet, hygiene and disease prevention
- Document and charts all treatment modalities administered and preventive medicine prescribed
- Make referrals to specialists when necessary for treatment of medical conditions
- Work as a member of the medical staff in identifying the medical issues of the community and to develop best treatment plans
- Provide medical assistance to other Physicians and mid-level providers as necessary or provides coverage for patients in the absence of their regular treating physicians
- Keeps Medical Director informed of trends and increases in numbers of medical conditions and illnesses being reported by patients
- Keep up with CME requirements for Texas License and Board Certification
- Abide by infection control policies and procedures as dictated in the Infection Control Manual
- Abide by policies and procedures on hazardous materials as dictated in the Employee Safety Manual
- Participate in after hour care, to include patient calls and hospital coverage
- Participates in the agency's Quality Improvement Program

Requirements |
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited school of medicine
- Board certified in Family Medicine
- Unrestricted Texas license (currently licensed or license pending)
- Current DEA & DPS Certification
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for Healthcare Professionals Certification
- 2 years of post-graduate training experience preferred
Bilingual (Spanish & English) Preferred

Eden is the population center of Concho County in central Texas. Home to approximately 1,280 people, Eden is a neighborly community at the intersection of two major highways: US 83 and US 87.
Eden is 17 miles east of the geodetic center of the state. The primary care medical home is accountable for meeting the large majority of each patient’s physical, oral, and mental health care needs. This includes prevention and wellness, acute care, and chronic care. Providing comprehensive care requires a team of care providers. This integrated healthcare team might include physicians, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, nurses, dentists, hygienists, pharmacists, nutritionists, social workers, behavioral health counselors, educators, case managers and care coordinators.
