 Job Description

In Brackettville, TX: Texas Association of Community Health Centers is seeking a full-time Internal or Family Medicine Physician.

Overview:

  • Provide preventative and primary medical care for patients in a warm and friendly community healthcare setting
  • Must be able to treat patients from a diversity of social and ethnic backgrounds
  • Work creatively as a member of a health oriented team composed of health professionals from a variety of disciplines for the healing and betterment of the center's patients
  • New hire will provide care to patients specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of ailments
  • Must possess skills necessary to supervise mid-levels, nurses, ancillary team
  • Some after-hours on-call duty is expected
  • Must be able to make arrangements for hospitalization of patients, as needed
  • Inpatient hospital responsibility at Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center

*Fluent in Spanish a plus

Qualifications: 

  • Graduation with MD from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of approved post-graduate training
  • Will consider new graduates, as well as medical students in the final year of residency
  • J1 and HIB visa candidates welcome
  • Must possess a full and unrestricted Texas medical license prior to employment start date
  • Board Certified (preferred) or Board Eligible in Internal or Family Medicine

This facility is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center providing primary health care services to both insured and uninsured patients in a bilingual, bicultural community since 1973. Our tri-county service area encompasses Maverick, Val Verde, and Kinney counties, is located in Southwest Texas on the U.S. Mexico Border, and serves the cities of Eagle Pass, Del Rio, and Brackettville, Texas. The center maintains eight medical clinic sites and offers Pediatric, OB/GYN, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Podiatry and Dental Services.
