Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA is searching for a Pediatric Dentist to join the faculty of its hospital-based dental program consisting of 5 Hospital Dentists, 2 Pediatric Dentists, 1 Orthodontist, 1 Prosthodontist and 4 General Practice Residents. Established in 1980, Carilion Dental Care expanded its services in 2001 to include pediatric dental care for children who have very little or no access to dental care along with those who have developmental disabilities or who are medically complex. Potential exists for academic appointment through Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. Teaching responsibilities exist at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and the General Practice Residency Program.
Pediatric Dental Program provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient oral healthcare services to children in southwestern Virginia. A multi-disciplinary team provides care for children with craniofacial deformities. Historically the service performs almost 500 OR cases per year.
Carilion's pediatric dental program is recognized as one of Virginia Health Care Foundations' "Models That Made It," and is being replicated in other communities in the State of Virginia, and received national recognition in 2005 when it was 1st runner up for the 13th Annual Monroe E. Trout Premier Cares Award.
Minimum requirements include:
- DDS/DMD degree from accredited dental school
- Completion of an accredited Pediatric Dentistry Program
- Operating Room skills desired
- Eligible for unencumbered dental license and DEA
Carilion Dental Care is a service provided by Carilion Clinic, the largest, not-for-profit integrated health system in southwest Virginia, with 7 hospitals, 270+ practice sites, and 24+ onsite GME programs. Dental program is affiliated with Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a 703 bed Level I Academic/Tertiary Referral Center.
