Carilion Clinic is searching for an experienced American Board of Pediatrics Board Certified Pediatrician with an interest in working with medical residents and students to join the section of pediatric primary care at Carilion Children's Pediatric Medicine. This section includes four offices located in Botetourt County, Roanoke County, Roanoke City, and Franklin County. The pediatric resident Continuity Clinic is based out of the Roanoke City practice and this role will have primary responsibility over the Continuity Clinic operations and staffing. The pediatric residency program is a small program with 6 residents per year and either 2 PGY3 chiefs or a single PGY4 Chief. This role will be split between resident precepting where the residents are the Primary Care Providers and building your own practice as a Primary Care Provider. Clinical time is expected to be 4 days a week with one day for resident education planning and administrative work.
Enjoy an outpatient practice providing comprehensive care for children birth to 18 years of age, working a Monday through Friday schedule with shared call and weekend rotations. This growing medical practice, located in Roanoke, VA, serves pediatric patients across the Southwest Virginia region. Qualified candidates must be willing to work seeing 25-35 patients a day to include newborns, well, and sick visits.
Hospital coverage is provided by Pediatric Hospitalists, Pediatric Intensivists, and Neonatologists at Carilion Children's, the regions only Level III 60-bed NICU, 8 bed PICU, and 24 bed pediatric unit. Pediatric expertise and support available in most subspecialties: Allergy, Anesthesia, Cardiology, Clinical Genetics, Developmental Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Hematology & Oncology, Intensivists, Neonatology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Pulmonary, Psychiatry, ENT and Surgery.
