 Job Description

Spring Harbor Hospital, a division of Maine Behavioral Healthcare, is seeking an Autism & Developmental Disorders Child Psychiatrist.  This is an exciting opportunity for an academically-inclined child psychiatrist to join a growing, nationally-recognized treatment and research program for children with autism and developmental disorders.

This full-time position will report to Matthew Siegel, M.D., Director of the Developmental Disorders Program at Spring Harbor Hospital, a division of Maine Behavioral Healthcare, and southern Maine's only nonprofit, private psychiatric hospital offering psychiatric treatment to children, adolescents, and adults.  Candidates will serve as the attending child psychiatrist for a specialized day treatment program, tele-consult service and in the outpatient clinic in the new Center for Autism and Developmental Disorders, opening in October of 2014 in the Portland, Maine area.  Selected candidates will also join our autism research team, with an opportunity for study participation and publication.

Candidates will have an Assistant Professor Faculty appointment at Tufts School of Medicine, and the opportunity to teach Residents and Fellows at Maine Medical Center, the state’s leading tertiary care hospital with a full complement of residencies and fellowships, and an integral part of the Maine Medical Center-Tufts University School of Medicine Medical School Program.
