 Job Description

In San Antonio, TX: Texas Association of Community Health Centers is seeking a full-time Family Medicine Physician to provide comprehensive in-patient and out-patient (as per individual employment agreements) primary health care services to the Center’s patients. New Graduates welcome!

Job Overview:

  • Examines, diagnoses, treats and/or refers patients assigned to physician's panel, on an in-patient and out-patient basis
  • Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate
  • Maintain a problem oriented health record for each patient seen
  • Assure continuity of care by providing comprehensive medical services on a timely basis
  • Refer clients for appropriate specialty care services that are appropriate for patient's management and care
  • Review all lab and x-ray reports for patients under his/her care
  • Maintain appropriate productivity standards of specialty as established by the Center; maintains appropriate and efficient patient flow and minimize schedule changes and absences
  • Provide excellent internal/external customer service
  • Trains, mentors and supervises students and clinical support staff, as appropriate
  • Takes call after hours and on weekends on a rotation basis with other providers and responds appropriately and on a timely manner to after hour calls
  • Participate in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs as needed
  • Call Coverage: quarterly for one week
  • Clinic uses NextGen EHR system

Qualifications:

  • Must be registered and have current Hospital privileges at designated area hospitals
  • Graduation from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of approved post-graduate training
  • Current unrestricted Texas Medical license (will also accept Texas License that is pending, or non-Texas Licensure with plans to license in Texas)
  • Must have current DEA and DPS registrations for the purpose of writing prescriptions
