This is an employed position with a flexible two-year salary guarantee. After 2 years, move to an incentive compensation plan (with the option to go on the compensation plan after one year if financial targets are met).

Signing Bonus: Yes
Relocation Paid: One house-hunting visit, for up to 7 days. Household moving expenses provided by ThedaCare's corporate mover
Vacation: Paid Time Off: 35 days, including vacation, CME, and holidays
CME: CME/Professional Dues: $4500/year
Call Coverage: FP is 1:11 with Mid-levels taking the calls first on the weekends and triaging to the physicians only if necessary/OB call is 1:5

 Job Description

ThedaCare, Inc., a highly successful northeast Wisconsin integrated health system, seeks a BE/BC Family Practice Physician for its Shawano location. This is a full scope family medicine practice with six of the physicians doing Obstetrics. In addition to deliveries, provider that is trained or willing to be trained to do C-sections would be welcomed. The group enjoys call of 1:11 with Mid-levels taking the calls first on the weekends and triaging to the physicians only if necessary. OB call is 1:5. Members of the group perform a wide array of procedures.

ThedaCare Physicians Shawano ambulatory care center is a state-of-the-art, comprehensive outpatient facility designed to meet most a patient's health care needs under one roof. The two story, 73,000-square-foot facility includes in-house general surgery, gynecology, and phychiatry specialists as well as visiting specialists from nearly 20 different physician practices.  There are also comprehensive diagnostics such as; laboratory, digital X-Ray, CT, and rooms to perform minor procedures such as colonoscopies under local anesthetic, as well as ThedaCare Pharmacy and ThedaCare At Home services. In addition, the facility offers a fully equipped and staffed outpatient surgery center.

Shawano clinic integrates the services offered by both primary care physicians and specialists by co-locating them with diagnostic services in the facilities. Also, they stay connected real time through ThedaCare's electronic medical records system (EMR) in EPIC.

ThedaCare Physicians Shawano/Clintonville/Tigerton Call Group is the largest multi-specialty physician practice in the region. It began as a physician practice more than 60 years ago, and has been affiliated with ThedaCare for more than 15 years. It employs nearly 216 people, including 13 physicians. Almost 39,000 active patients in ten counties make more than 80,000 visits to ThedaCare Physicians Shawano annually.

    Hospital Overview

    ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, with an average daily census of 16 patients, and 2,300 admissions annually. It serves 21,000 emergency patients annually. In 2012 there were 3,650 surgical cases (400 of those were inpatient) between ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano and the Ambulatory Surgical Center- located on the Shawano Clinic.

    In early 2015, a new combined hospital/clinic campus will open its doors on the campus of the current ThedaCare Physicians-Shawano. The Shawano service area includes 35,000 residents of Shawano, Menominee, and Waupaca Counties.  In addition to rehabilitation and inpatient services, ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano provides sports medicine services, diagnostic radiology services with CT and MRI, lab services, and sports medicine.

    ThedaCare Physicians Shawano is a 73,000-sq-ft, state-of-the-art facility built in 2006. Electronic Health Record (EPIC) has been in place since 2003. The practice enjoys on-site ancillary services including Digital X-ray, CT, ultrasound & cardiac testing, full-range pharmacy, diabetic services, occupational health, and psychiatry. Facilities for Endoscopies and other minor procedures that use local anesthetic are also available.

    Visiting specialists include: Audiology, Cardiology, ENT, Nephrology, Neurology, Oncology, Pain Management, Rehabilition medicine, Urology, Vascular Surgery and Neurosurgery.
