 Job Description

The Department of Psychiatry at Maine Medical Center is seeking a BC/BE Child Psychiatrist to join their Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry as an attending Child Psychiatrist in the outpatient service. This position works within a diverse clinical and teaching service that includes child psychiatry fellows and psychiatric and pediatric residents. This service also offers outpatient consultation to pediatric and family medicine practices. Candidates will be eligible for a faculty appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine

The Child Psychiatry Division offers comprehensive evaluation and treatment for those under 21 with mood, anxiety, behavior, psychotic, learning, and developmental disorders, those at risk for suicide, those who have experienced adverse or traumatic events, and substance abuse co-occurring with mental illness. Evaluations may include assessment of autism and other developmental disorders. The Clinic is an active teaching program and the staff includes child and adolescent psychiatrists, clinical social workers and psychologists.

The Child Psychiatry Division is part of a larger clinical network that includes Spring Harbor Hospital and Maine Behavioral Healthcare, a region wide comprehensive mental health system. This system includes an innovative program of close collaboration with pediatricians, the Child Psychiatry Access Program (CPAP), and it is part of a region-wide program of integration of mental health services and primary care.
