Description |
ThedaCare, Inc., an integrated health system in northeastern Wisconsin, seeks a
BE/BC rheumatologist to join its state-of-the-art musculoskeletal center.
ThedaCare has developed a three-tier system, ThedaCare Orthopedics Plus,
that provides comprehensive, coordinated patient care. The first tier includes
primary care providers, emergency room physicians, and athletic trainers. The
next tier includes family practice/sports medicine physicians, physiatrists, rheumatologists, and rehabilitation therapists. The final tier incorporates orthopedic
surgeons. ThedaCare Orthopedics Plus occupies a 22,000-sq-ft facility on the
Appleton Medical Center campus. The unique building design provides an efficient,
continuous flow of patients through the facility.
The referral base is comprised of 150 primary care providers and several
athletic trainers affiliated with 13 universities and high schools.

APPLETON MEDICAL CENTER is highly regarded as a top area medical facility. This 160 bed hospital is breaking new ground and records with its key programs and services. Named four times as a Solucient "Top 100 Hospital". The Emergency Department is staffed by board certified physicians. The Appleton Heart Institute has been a leader for more than 20 years in the prevention, diagnosis equipment, medical and surgical treatments and rehabilitation, and currently performs more than 300 open-heart procedures annually. The ThedaCare Cancer Institute and the Martha Siekman Cancer Center offer excellent oncology services for area conacer patients who require inpatient or out patient therapy and ongoing support services. The Groth Surgery Center, which opened in 1999, is a state-of-the-art outpatient surgery center completed with seven surgical suites, four procedure rooms, and a cystoscopy room.
THEDA CLARK MEDICAL CENTER has overlooked the waters of Lake Winnebago for more than 80 years and continues to have a viable presence in the local medical community. Major programs for this progressive 260-bed hospital include: Named four times as a Solucient "Top 100 Hospital" , ACS Level II Trauma Center (includes a dedicated Chest Pain Center, helicopter-based response service for Northeastern Wisconsin, 24/7 staffing with board certified emergency medicine physicians.) The Neuroscience Center, with comprehensive neurology and neurosurgery services includes a six-bed neurological intensive care unit. The Center of Rehabilitation Services offers treatment for trauma, stroke, orthopedic, and neuromuscular condition. It also has a dedicated pediatric rehabilitation program The Children's Hospital of Wisconsin-Fox Valley has a regional level III neonatal intensive care nursery whose affiliated medical staff includes a perinatologist, a pediatrician, and a neonatologist. The Eye Center offers patients the latest in laser correction surgery. A new and innovative regional Sleep Disorders Center offers diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders, such as sleep apnea and narcolepsy. The Alyward Surgery Center, completed in 1994, is an outpatient surgery center with four surgical suites, two procedure rooms, and a cystoscopy room.
Both hospitals employ Collaborative Care ThedaCares propriety innovation of inpatient hospital care in which a core team, or trio, comprised of a nurse, physician and pharmacist, supported by therapists and other clinicians works side-by-side to care for every patient from the moment of admission until discharge.
This new clinical model of taking care of hospitalized patients, eliminates waste, defects, errors, and delays, and returns nurses, doctors, pharmacists and other caregivers to the bedside. Since being introduced as a pilot, 14-bed unit at Appleton Medical Center in February 2007, Collaborative Care has:
Reduced the cost of care by 28 percent,
reduced lengths of stay by 21 percent,
produced 100 percent compliance on nearly all quality measures, and
improved top patient satisfaction scores to above 90 percent

Description : |
The facility provides all levels of support for the physician, including, RNs,
LPNs, MAs, administrative support and a sophisticated electronic medical
record keeping system. All ancillary services are on campus.
Physicians enjoy a collegial working relationship that supports both primary
care physicians and specialists. Call consists of 1:2 at homeoffice/consultation only. Inpatient call is taken
by hospitalists.
