CHIEF OF PEDIATRIC PULMONOLOGY & ALLERGY DIVISION / PEDIATRIC PULMONOLOGY FACULTY -- CARILION CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL & VIRGINIA TECH CARILION SCHOOL OF MEDICINE, ROANOKE, VA
Offering an exceptional opportunity, Carilion Clinic and the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology & Allergy of Carilion Children’s Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia are seeking a third physician to replace the current Chief who is retiring.
The new physician will lead as the Chief of the Division a team of three other providers, consisting of one experienced Board Certified Pediatric Pulmonologist, one Board Certified Allergy-Immunologist, and one Board Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in a clinic-based, academic program with remarkable opportunities in teaching, research, and clinical pediatric pulmonology and allergy. If the candidate is seeking a non-leadership position, the same opportunity is available for a staff faculty pediatric pulmonologist.
This position carries a faculty appointment with Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.
We are looking for a dynamic, growth-focused pediatric pulmonology leader of excellent clinical experience, proven academic interest, and great vision and creativity.
Our program provides comprehensive pediatric pulmonology, allergy and immunology care coverage to over 300,000 children in a large, rural, multi-state area. Clinical pathology is exceptionally broad and our pediatric pulmonologists perform the full breadth of procedures of all levels of complexity. Patients with cystic fibrosis receive care by the Cystic Fibrosis Team based at UVa Children’s Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia who visit as a traveling clinic in Roanoke.
- MD/DO, Board Certification in Pediatrics/Pediatric Pulmonology
- Evidence of strong organizational, communication and leadership skills
- Physician leadership experience with emphasis on team-building; development of integrated collaborative models of care, education, and research; and managing people and programs.
Carilion Children’s is a hospital-within-a-hospital model centrally located in the Level One 763-bed trauma and academic center at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH). Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital serves over one million people in Southwestern Virginia. Our full-service children's hospital provides universal care and intensive care to neonatal, pediatric and adolescent patients, is the only Level One pediatric trauma center in the region, and serves over 300,000 children annually. There are 24 Medical/Surgical, 6 PICU and 60 NICU beds in the Children’s hospital at CRMH and 5 inpatient pediatric beds at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center (CNRV).
