Palliative Medicine Physician

The Palliative Medicine Program at Maine Medical Center is seeking a Palliative Medicine attending physician to join their team in a full time position.  Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.

The Palliative Medicine Team at Maine Medical Center is comprised of physicians, advanced practice professionals, social workers, chaplains and volunteers with administrative support and Division leadership.  Services are provided in the inpatient setting at Maine Medical Center and in the outpatient Palliative Care Clinic.

Maine Medical Center’s Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program, to date in its 4th year, provides Hospice and Palliative Medicine training opportunities in collaboration with the VA system across the continuum of care settings.  As a Division, Palliative Medicine at Maine Medical Center fosters innovation, collaboration and professionalism as the foundation of their clinical, educational and research responsibilities, supporting their vision of “Helping every person with a serious illness live fully.”

Maine Medical Center (MMC) has 637 licensed beds and is the state’s leading tertiary hospital, academic center and a Level 1 Trauma Center, with a full complement of residencies and fellowships and an integral part of the Tufts University Medical School Undergraduate medical education.  Maine Medical Center supports over 230 residents and fellows in 14 residency programs and 9 fellowship programs approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
