Carilion Clinic is a physician-led, multi-specialty clinic centered in Southwest Virginia, employing more than 700 physicians.  The Division has office locations in Roanoke and Christiansburg.  A three year GI Fellowship was initiated in 2013.  A fourth year unaccredited Interventional Fellowship has been in place since the inception of the Division in 2010.  The Christiansburg practice models private practice, and includes an office based endoscopy unit; four faculty are based in Christiansburg.  The Roanoke practice models academia and includes eleven faculty. Fellows rotate at the Salem Veteran's Hospital, where we are represented by two faculty participating in the Fellowship.  The Division has core strengths in Colorectal Cancer Screening, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Hepatology and Interventional Endoscopy.  .  This is the largest referral practice in western Virginia for Interventional and IBD and the only practice with dedicated Hepatology.  

There are exciting opportunities to explore collaborative research with the Virginia Tech faculty at both the Riverside and the main Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg.  As a member of the Gastroenterology faculty at Carilion Clinic, You will have the opportunity to apply for an appointment at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.
