 Job Description

In Katy, TX Texas Association of Community Health Centers is seeking a full-time Licensed Clinical Social Worker who will serve as an advocate to help clients gain access to resources while confronting their personal issues such as mental illness, addiction, and abuse. Considerable independent judgment is required to carry out assignments that have significant impact on the health center’s services and programs. The LCSW is responsible for assessing problems and determining appropriate types of intervention methodologies. Works in conjunction with other health service providers.

Job Overview: 

  • Provides group work treatment and social casework for health center patients.
     
  • Provides individual and group therapy, outreach, crisis intervention, social rehabilitation, and teaching skills needed for everyday living.
     
  • On an ongoing basis evaluates needs for clients’ continuation in the program with quarterly reviews and annual reassessments.
     
  • Maintains records and prepares verbal and written reports and correspondence related to the work.
     
  • Participates in all safety programs which may include assignment to an emergency response team.

 Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Texas licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker required
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field is required.
  • Experience in a similar health center setting preferred
  • Demonstrate knowledge of community resources

Bilingual in English & Spanish preferred but not required

Education: Seventeen school districts exist within the city of Houston. There are also many charter schools that are run separately from school districts. In addition, some public school districts also have their own charter schools. The Houston area encompasses more than 300 private schools, many of which are accredited by Texas Private School Accreditation Commission recognized agencies. The Houston Area Independent Schools offer education from a variety of different religious as well as secular viewpoints. The Houston area Catholic schools are operated by the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.
