 Client Overview

One of the oldest continually-running independent clinics for primary care in America, our facility provides health care with respect and dignity to underserved and uninsured Central Texans. Here, patients find a full range of primary care medical care services under one roof, including an on-site lab and a patient pharmaceutical assistance program. Prevention services include immunizations, health education, nutritional counseling and chronic disease management. We also offer behavioral health counseling and social work services.

We have an excellent reputation in the community and are known for our innovative, patient-centered programming. We offer our providers an opportunity for professional growth, working with a well-established medical team committed to creative community based care for our patients. In addition, our collaborative approach in working with other non-profits has resulted in successful off-site clinics for vulnerable women, adolescents and children, as well as a highly successful project serving pregnant and parenting teens. Research indicates that within one year of making our facility their medical home, our patients visit the ER 33% less often, which not only makes an enormous difference in their lives, but represents a savings for our community as a whole.

Community Overview

Really LIVE in Austin! Ride singletrack in the morning, eat a Mexico City-grade corn tamale for lunch, take a cool dip in Barton Springs, and then actually go out at night and catch the latest indie flicks and bands downtown or at the South by Southwest (SXSW) or Austin City Limits (ACL) festivals.

The Texas capital is unbeatable! Austin has incredible diversity, and not just in the terrain that goes from rolling green hills, lush forests, and clear lakes to the beauty of the Texas Hill Country, but in its culture, as well.

"There's no place that combines so much culture and so much outdoor activity," says Hill Abell, owner of Austin's Bicycle Sport Shop.

Moving here is a popular thing to do these days; the city is one of the fastest growing in the United States, but so far, Austin isn't crammed or financially out of reach. The cost of living is lower than it is in nearly every other comparably sized metro area in the nation, jobs are plentiful (especially in high tech and education), and homes are affordable.

Come and live the good life in the heart of Texas!
