Carilion Clinic is accepting applications for a Board Certified/Board Eligible fellowship trained Musculoskeletal Radiologist to join the Department of Radiology at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH). This position is needed to address ongoing growth within the Carilion System which will include the construction of a 300 million expansion of CRMH as well as a 30 million dollar investment in a new pediatrics subspecialty clinic that will include pediatric orthopedic services.
CRMH is a 703-bed flagship hospital in Southwest Virginia serving 1.5 million people, the third largest hospital in the Commonwealth of Virginia, a designated level 1 trauma center, and a designated Stroke Center. Carilion Clinic has a large Department of Orthopedic Surgery composed of 30 orthopedic surgeons performing approximately 9500 orthopedic operations per year.
In additional to interpreting advanced musculoskeletal imaging studies, candidates must also be able to interpret general neuro/chest/body radiograph/ultrasound/CT studies. Overnight shifts are covered by teleradiology. Evening shifts (5P to 11P) and weekend shifts are distributed evenly amongst the 15 diagnostic Radiologists based at CRMH (q15 weekend and evening coverage on average). Interventional procedures and interpretation of mammography, nuclear/molecular medicine, body MR, and neuro MR are NOT required.
Compensation is based on private practice benchmarks and includes bonus opportunities based on quality based scorecard performance as well as clinical productivity. Benefits include 10 weeks paid vacation per year, generous CME fund, employer funded pension plan, benefits package, and paid malpractice insurance and tail.
All Radiologists at CRMH have academic appointments at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and light teaching responsibilities for medical students and non-radiology residents. There are no expectations for research.
CRMH and associated imaging centers are state-of-the-art facilities with seven CT scanners (including three dual-energy scanners) and five MRI scanners including three 3T MRI scanners. One additional dual energy CT scanner as well as a second PET/CT system will be installed in 2019. Technology platforms include Sectra PACS, Powerscribe 360, EPIC EMR, and Syngo.Via advanced image processing.
The Department of Radiology is composed of 25 Radiologists with 18 fellowships including Neuroradiology, Body Imaging, MRI, MSK, Interventional Radiology, and Women’s Imaging including 4 dedicated Breast Imagers, 5 dedicated Interventional Radiologists, and 2 Neurointerventionalists.
