Carilion Clinic Breast Care Center is adding another Breast Imager to its comprehensive program of dedicated expertise in breast imaging, surgery, pathology and operations. A highly innovative practice environment exists, supported by one of the few programs worldwide with large format and three-dimensional correlative pathology. Position includes the opportunity to conduct original clinical research in a mutually supportive environment with core specialties, but not required. Other aspects of the Breast Care Center include:
- Nationally-recognized quality program
- Five outreach screening locations
- 27,000 screening mammograms annually
- 35,000 exams annually
- Dedicated diagnostic center, 8,500 square feet
- Separate interpretation areas within the diagnostic center for optimal environment for breast interpretation
Programmatic advances include high risk genetics program with dedicated genetics counselor, two interdisciplinary patient care conferences, and continuous evolution through a committed Breast Program Leadership Team. Comprehensive services provide prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and research in collaboration with other departments within our flagship 763-bed teaching/tertiary medical center.
Breast Center procedures include:
- Screening mammograms (3D)
- Diagnostic mammograms (3D)
- Ultrasound
- US Invasive procedures: needle localization, needle core biopsy, and cyst aspiration
- Stereotactic imaging for core biopsy
- Galactography
- MR guided core biopsies

Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of Fellowship training in Breast Imaging, required
- Board Certified/Board Eligible, American Board of Radiology, required
