 Job Description

In San Antonio, TX: Texas Association of Community Health Centers is seeking a full-time Pediatric Health Nurse Practitioner to provide quality, comprehensive out-patient primary health care services to the Center’s pediatric patients consulting with supervising physician and abiding by appropriate clinical protocols. Reports to the Lead Pediatrician regarding clinical issues and activities related to the delivery of pediatric medical care.

 Job Overview:

  • Examines, diagnoses, treats and/or refers pediatric patients assigned to physician’s panel, on an out-patient basis. Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions consulting with supervising physician.  
  • Assures continuity of care by providing medical services on a timely basis as per Clinic schedule within the Center’s scope of practice and the Nurse Practitioners training. 
  • Trains and mentors’ medical students and clinical support staff engaged in activities and procedures, as appropriate.  
  • Reviews all lab and x-ray reports for patients under his/her care on a timely basis and makes medical management decisions appropriately. 
  • Provides excellent internal/external customer service via telephone, fax or face-to-face contact to assist patients with their health care needs.

 Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Current License to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Texas required
  • Masters Degree and Board Certified as Pediatric Nurse Practitioner required
  • Experience preferred but will consider new graduates 

Verbal and written English and Spanish Bilingual preferred
