 Job Description

Carilion Clinic has an opportunity for a BE/BC Non-Invasive Cardiologist to join 3 Cardiologists, 2 Interventional Cardiologist and 4 ACPs at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center, a 146-bed medical center located in Christiansburg, Virginia. Physicians enjoy the benefits of being part of Carilion Clinic's integrated, nationally recognized regional cardiac network with an established and growing Cardiology section supported by a large primary care and specialty referral base. There is the opportunity for rapid practice growth and outreach in local communities and clinics. This will take place within Carilion Clinic’s Cardiovascular Institute, which will expand significantly over the next seven years; the organization is investing over 1 billion on capital improvements, including 200 million to build and equip the new Crystal Spring Tower dedicated to providing care for emergency medicine and cardiac patients.

Carilion New River Valley Medical Center  is a regional healthcare facility offering modern diagnostic, medical and surgical services in a customer friendly atmosphere. The hospital has a Level III Trauma Emergency Department that is home to Lifeguard11, Carilion Clinic’s Emergency Air Medical Transport which primarily serves the New River Valley and areas west. There are approximately 200 physicians on the medical staff representing a broad spectrum of both medical and surgical specialties.

  • Stress testing - treadmill, nuclear (SPECT) and stress echo
  • Echocardiography (2D/3D TEE and TTE)

  • Dedicated Heart Failure Clinic 
  • 64-slice CT and 3T MRI unit

  • Percutaneous coronary Interventions
  • Cardiac Rehab
  • Peripheral angiography and angioplasty
  • 2  Cath labs (Philips Azurion 7)
  • Vascular ultrasound and vascular surgery services are available on site.
