 Job Description

Franklin Community Health Network, parent-corporation to Franklin Memorial Hospital, is seeking a Board Certified/Eligible general Orthopedic Surgeon to join their hospital based Orthopedics practice in Farmington, Maine.  Subspecialty interest in hand, total joints, back, or foot is welcome but not required.   The selected candidate will share call and work collaboratively with another community based Orthopedic Surgeon.

This position provides a unique opportunity for candidates to be based full time in Farmington providing patients with orthopedic services in the community, with a close working relationship with Portland-based orthopedic surgeons at Maine Medical Partners Orthopedics, the leading team within The Joint Replacement Center at Maine Medical Center.

The Orthopedics program at Farmington includes state-of-the-art joint replacements, including total knee and hip replacements, carpal tunnel release, joint arthroscopy, fracture reduction, and foot and hand surgery.  A diverse physical rehabilitation and sports medicine department supports the Orthopedics program, as well as a weekly sports medicine clinic for individuals of all ages who suffer from a sports-related injury, including student athletes and adult recreational athletes.

The position offers teaching opportunities, as Franklin Memorial Hospital is one of the teaching sites for the Maine Medical Center – Tufts University Medical School program.
