Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Department of Emergency Medicine is pleased to announce a once a year Global Health/Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Fellowship. This fellowship allows you to experience a unique combined curriculum in both discipline areas. Fellowship education focuses on how to integrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to tackle some of the world's toughest health challenges while also mastering new and dynamic ultrasound applications in global settings. 

Since 1997, our Global Health Fellowship has recognized that the pathways our physician take to make an impact with be as diverse as the world itself. Our innovative combined Global Health/Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Fellowship opens yet another path for the adventuresome physician. Through the mentorship of our Global Health experts you will find partners who work to ensure you learn the fundamental curriculum and have a healthy start along one of the diverse career paths open to experts in Global Health. 

The Ultrasound curriculum allows fellows to become proficient in both Ultrasound applications and management through protected clinical time devoted solely to ultrasound. US fellows have the option to become certified RDMS and RDCS as well as how to learn to perform TEE effectively. Critical care ultrasound training is a passion and emphasis of the fellowship leader. Fellows have numerous opportunities to learn practical US application that answer important clinical questions on the sickest patients. Mentorship from medical educators will facilitate your transition from learner to teacher. Ultrasound in medical education is integrated throughout the medical school and residency curriculum. Administrative experience is incorporated into the curriculum. Fellows learn fundamentals of QI for US as well as the process fundamentals of image archiving, billing, and coding. Robust opportunities to participate in meaningful global health ultrasound research rounds out the ideal fellowship experience.

To be eligible for consideration, potential candidates must have completed an accredited ACGME Emergency Medicine residency prior to matriculation. Medical licensure in the state of California is also expected prior to beginning the fellowship.
