 Job Description

Maine Medical Center’s Division of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery is seeking a Board Certified/Eligible congenital cardiac surgeon to join their division of congenital heart surgery.

The candidate must have completed an American Board of Thoracic Surgery certified Congenital Heart Surgery fellowship.  He/she will join an experienced board-certified congenital heart surgeon, and the division is committed to assisting any candidate who is board eligible in achieving certified status.

The congenital heart surgery program at Maine Medical Center has a 55 year history of providing exceptional compassionate care to patients and their families.  The program is well-established,  providing a  full range of pediatric cardiology, pediatric cardiac anesthesia, perfusion, and intensive care physician and nursing services, and is nationally recognized for its comprehensive nature and reliable high-quality outcomes.

Maine Medical Center has 637 licensed beds and is the state’s leading tertiary hospital, with a full complement of residencies and fellowships and is an integral part of the Tufts University Medical School.  The position involves teaching and mentoring residents and medical students from the Maine Medical Center-Tufts University School of Medicine Program, and the successful candidate would have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine.

The successful candidate will be employed by Maine Medical Partners (MMP), a subsidiary of Maine Medical Center and Maine’s largest multi-specialty group.  MMP serves the health care needs of patients throughout Maine and Northern New England.  This high quality team of more than 370 physicians and 150 advanced practice professionals provides a wide range of hospital based, primary, specialty, and sub-specialty adult and pediatric care delivered throughout a network of 30 locations across the State and acts as a regional referral network.
