 Job Description

Opportunity for two BC/BE pediatric intensivists to provide care for critical ill children in Southern Indiana. Intensive care unit has eight beds. Duties include admitting, providing quality care to children in the PICU and responding to ER calls. Also includes response to 911 trauma calls and Peds RRT as notified by RN. Physician is also medical control for the Pediatric Transport Team. Average yearly volume is 300. Serves local and tri-state area within a 90 mile radius including Kentucky and Illinois. Two physicians will rotate service. Leadership opportunity available. 

Children's Bill of Rights and Vincent No Pain Campaign are vital aspects of the program. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) staff works closely with Trauma Services and Lifeflight to ensure continuity of care from the emergency room to the Pediatric/PICU. This comforts parents because it means, most likely,a child will be treated close to home and family rather than being transferred to an out-of-town hospital.
