Location: Indianapolis, IN, USA

 Job Description

Veteran Health Indiana - Roudebush VA Medical Center, Indianapolis, is seeking motivated Student Nurse Technicians to join our Indy VA Nursing Team!

There has never been a better time to launch a VA Nursing Career! As the largest integrated healthcare system in the U.S., the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) provides VA Nurses with unparalleled opportunities for professional growth and development, as well as nation-wide mobility, since VA Registered Nurses can work at any VA in the country, with just one active RN license from any state! Upon successful completion of their nursing degree, VA Student Nurse Technicians receive priority consideration for Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) positions (which pay at the entry level of RN salary scale, even before licensure), so they may continue gaining valuable nursing experience and training during the time between graduation, and when RN licensure is obtained. Once a new-grad has passed the NCLEX, GNTs transition into our VA RN Residency program, where they receive additional support and training to foster successful RN transition-to-practice from novice new-graduates to confident, competent VA Registered Nurses!

Student Nurse Technicians function in direct patient care roles supporting optimal care of our Veteran patients, with assigned duties and tasks as appropriate for the level of experience and training. SNTs receive a wealth of experience and training throughout various patient care departments at the Roudebush VA Medical Center.

VA SNTs have opportunities to gain direct patient care experience and training in the following areas:

  • Acute Care/Medical-Surgical
  • Critical Care (ICU, Progressive Care, & Emergency Department)
  • Mental Health Nursing

Work Schedule: Hours and work schedules may vary based on availability and facility staffing needs.

Student Nurse Technician opportunities are paid intermittent positions which afford flexibility in hours/schedules, but do not include benefits or paid time off.

This is an open continuous announcement, through which resumes will be accepted and qualified candidates will be hired on an ongoing basis. To receive consideration, a complete resume must be uploaded via the "Upload CV/Resume" link at the bottom of the following page.

*NOTE: Resumes must include the full name and address of all colleges/universities attended, confirmation of current enrollment status, dates attended, major, type of degree pursued (baccalaureate or associates), completion status (completed or ongoing), and actual or anticipated graduation date (mm/dd/yyyy format).
