Duties: Serve as an attending physician on the pediatric service in large teaching hospital, including working with interdisciplinary health care teams to develop whole-person treatment plans. Manage in-patient and outpatient cases, including addressing the needs of family including end-of-life counseling and management of care for patients on advanced life-support or with severe developmental delays, as needed for efficient, quality patient care. Provide patient care and medical treatment of frequently encountered disorders within the physician’s particular specialty, including providing palliative care including emotional, social and spiritual support for critically ill pediatric patients. Provide clinical teaching for residents and medical students, including all aspects of the physician’s particular specialty. Participate in research activities within the particular specialty department and represent the department at professional and educational conferences.
Education + Experience Requirements: Medical degree; Completion of a 36-month pediatric residency
Special Skills: Must have experience in each of the following:
- Working with interdisciplinary health care teams to develop whole-person treatment plans;
- Providing palliative care including emotional, social and spiritual support for critically ill pediatric patients;
- Addressing the needs of family including end-of-life counseling and management of care for patients on advanced life-support or with severe developmental delays; and
- California medical license.
