Description |
|
CommUnityCare is seeking a full-time Family Medicine Physician that will float between clinics to fill in vacancies due to vacation, CME and medical leave. The Physician will provide diagnosis and treatment to center patients based on medical history and results of physical assessments. Staff Physician will perform physical exams on new and existing patients at City-County clinics, which may include specialized functions such as obstetrics, gynecology, pulmonary medicine, and epidemiology. Will be responsible for prescribing medications and therapies for treatment and preventative care.
Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience, and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, the essential functions of the job can be performed. Must be Board Certified in Family Medicine or Eligible with the intent of becoming certified next year. Willingness to do pre-natal care required.
Licenses and Certifications Required: Candidate must have graduated from an accredited Medical school with a Doctor of Medicine degree and possess a Texas medical license. Must have current DEA and DPS registrations. Ability to be clinically fluent in Spanish and previous experience with indigent population preferred. Familiarity with electronic medical records a plus.

The Community Health Centers (CHC) help ensure access to primary medical and dental care for those who have difficulty obtaining services due to economic or geographic barriers. Patients served include the uninsured and those enrolled in Medicaid, Medicare, CHIP, and the City/County Medical Assistance Program (MAP).
The Community Health Centers (CHC) are designated as ¿Federally Qualified¿ and meet all federal regulations. The current service area is Travis County.
All CHC patients are financially screened to determine eligibility for services. If a patient is determined eligible for services but does not qualify for established assistance programs, he or she may qualify for discounted fees. Clinic services are not free, but no one is refused service based on the ability to pay. For more information, contact the central eligibility office at 972-5250.
