TRAUMA/ACUTE CARE SURGEON

Maine Medical Partners, a division of Maine Medical Center, is seeking a BC/BE surgeon to join the 10 provider practice of Acute Care Surgery.

The successful candidate will have completed a Fellowship in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care and/or Acute Care Surgery.  Candidates must have a strong interest in Trauma, Burn, and Critical Care to include Cardiovascular Critical Care and be BC/BE in Surgical Critical Care.  Opportunities for participation in Emergency and Elective General Surgery are components of this practice’s mission.

Maine Medical Center has 637 licensed beds and is the state’s leading tertiary care hospital and Level One Trauma Center, admitting 1700 trauma patients, 600+ Critical Care patients, and 1600 emergency general surgery patients each year.  Pre-hospital trauma care is provided by both helicopter and ground-based units.

The position involves teaching and mentoring surgical residents and medical students from the Maine Medical Center-Tufts University School of Medicine Medical School Program, and the candidate would have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine.
