 Job Description

Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Department of Pediatric Urology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our team.

The incumbent will report to the Chief of Pediatric Urology and Clinical Director and will function as a member of the pediatric urology service assisting with the acute management of the pediatric urology patient. This is a limited position where the incumbent will function with general independence and decision-making responsibility under the direction and guidance of the Pediatric Urology Attending Physicians, as well as in accordance with established clinical protocols. The incumbent will see patients independently in the clinic daily, follow-up with throughput issues with the residents, be responsible for coalescing labs and x-rays results for the team, serve as a patient and family liaison, assist with pre-op preparations, assist with inter-service communication.

This opportunity is not eligible for a J1 Waiver.
 Job Requirements

Education and Licensure Requirements

  • Current licensure to practice as a registered nurse in the State of California.
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of California.
  • Graduate of an accredited Master's Degree program as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Board Certified by an appropriate credentialing organization as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • DEA certification to dispense medication.
  • CPR / BLS & PALS certificate.
  • Annual TB testing.
     

Knowledge and Skills Required
 

  • Nurse practitioner experience providing care to pediatric patients preferred, but welcome new graduates with strong acute pediatric care as an RN.
  • Comprehensive understanding of and the ability to implement the nursing process.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with other health professionals.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to a dynamically evolving research environment.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in problem solving techniques.
  • Strong organizational ability including demonstrated ability to meet multiple competing internally and externally imposed deadlines.
  • Demonstrated flexibility of time to meet patient/family and/or staff needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide support and resources to patients and families in crisis.
  • Appropriate use and knowledge of patient-related equipment, treatments and pharmacologic agents.
