ThedaCare Cancer Services, located in Appleton WI, is seeking a Board Certified Medical Oncology Physician Leader to join our team:

As the Physician Leader for ThedaCare’s medical oncology practice, this individual partners with the Cancer Services Director, and other members of the ThedaCare Leadership Team, to build and maintain a strong and effective leadership and governance model for the Medical Oncology practice as well as contributing to ThedaCare’s overall Cancer Program development.

Physician Leader Primary Responsibilities:

• Primary physician to provide input to create and drive strategy for the Cancer business line.
• Attends meetings as the medical oncology representative at the Physician Cancer Program Strategy Council, Cancer Committee and designated meetings where medical oncology physician representation is needed or required for accreditation purposes.
• Works closely with their administrative dyad partner to assure that meeting content is relevant and representative to the strategic interests of ThedaCare’s medical oncology practice.
• Plays the lead role in provider recruitment.
• Mentors all new providers when they join the practice.  Follows an organized onboarding process and invests time over the course of their first 6-12 months to ensure that the providers are successful in becoming members of the medical oncology team.
• Develops and maintains effective intra-group relationships and retention for the physicians and associate providers (i.e. NP’s or PA’s) within the medical oncology practice.
• Works jointly with the administrative leadership of the Cancer Business Line to prioritize clinical and operational performance.
• Physician representative to maintain effective inter-group relationships between the medical oncology practice and other key partners/stakeholders.
• Leads the medical oncology practice provider-related activities to keep providers informed on key issues, set provider policy and procedure, and advance clinical standardization.
