ThedaCare, Inc., an integrated healthcare system in northeastern Wisconsin, seeks a board certified Palliative Care Physician Leader to provide strategic leadership toward the development of a superior Palliative Care and Senior Care Program. This position will collaborate with our system’s primary care physicians and specialists, as well as the interdisciplinary team to ensure patients and families receive appropriate supportive care at the end of life. Additionally, this position will strengthen the integration of advanced care planning, senior care, hospice and palliative care services throughout the continuum of care.
Position Highlights:

Serves in a consultative role for referring physicians and palliative medical management of patients/families in addressing and managing goals of care

Join a team of experienced clinicians – physicians and associate providers within Thedacare’s hospice program as well as integrated clinic, home and inpatient palliative care team

Position Requirements:
-
Board Certified in Palliative Care, Internal Medicine or Family Medicine preferred
-
Experience in Geriatrics, Managed Care or Senior Care preferred
-
2-3 years of sound leadership experience in Practice Administration, Palliative Care or Senior Care preferred

Serves as a medical resource for hospice team(s) to insure compliance with regulatory statutes and best practice guidelines

Supports mission, values and values of ThedaCare and the Palliative Care Care program

Experience with electronic medical records

- Theda-Star- a helicopter-based response service for all of Northeastern Wisconsin.
- ThedaCare Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit- 12 bed unit with 24/7 staffing and an inpatient hospitalist. The unit is currently under construction and by Fall 2014 will have 19 beds with a dedicated psychiatric "Intensive Care Area" and detox beds.
