Description |
In Lubbock, TX: Texas Association of Community Health Centers is seeking a full-time Pediatrician to provide and manage medical care to children from birth through adolescence.
Job Overview:
- Diagnoses illness and injury
- Tracks mental and physical growth and development, consulting with patient or guardian to outline treatment and prevention plans
- Maintains records and charts according to laws and regulations
- In addition, the physician is part of a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) team and is expected to be familiar with the philosophy, goals and objectives of PCMH
- Maintain clinical expertise and competency and demonstrate thorough knowledge of procedures to deliver quality pediatric health care
- Provide clinical sessions, as scheduled, in direct patient care at clinic site, including extended hours clinics
- Examines, diagnoses, treats and/or refers patients assigned to physician’s panel, on an out-patient basis
- Refers patients for appropriate specialty care services as appropriate
- Maintains a problem oriented health record for each patient seen in accordance with the TFCC established Health Information Management policies and procedures
- Ensures that all parties are educated about diagnosis and the plan of care
- May act as a resource for facilitating communication when necessary
- Participates in specified health promotion, education, and/or prevention programs as needed, i.e., diabetes, childhood obesity, health fairs, etc.
- Attends and participates in clinic meetings/departmental meetings and other clinic function as required
- Provides clinical oversight under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer
Hours of Operation: 8am-5pm M-F with some weekend/evening work

Requirements |
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited medical school with a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy
- License to practice medicine in the State of Texas, board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics
- 2 years post-graduate training experience Preferred
- Sufficient experience and/or education to carry out the duties of this position
- Extensive knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of a branch of medicine, and knowledge of the methods, techniques, literature, practices, and principles of the broad field of medical science
Bilingual (English and Spanish) Preferred
