This is an opportunity to join a novel and growing inpatient Preventive and Lifestyle Medicine service at Loma Linda University Health. This position includes providing inpatient (primarily) and outpatient consults (possibly), teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and participating in further program expansion.

 Job Description

Under the direction of the chair and medical director, the NP/incumbent will:

  • provide full clinical preventive and lifestyle medicine consultations and follow-visits as requested by primary services, advising and guiding as requested.

  • plan, implement and evaluate health care treatments for acute inpatient and rehabilitation patients in conjunction with primary treating team.

  • Identifies and solves complex clinical problems requiring use of advanced nursing skills and communicates directly with primary team, patient, patient’s family and lifestyle and preventive medicine team.

  • develops and provides education to students, interns, residents, and fellows.

  • develops and provides patient education.

  • participates in research and/or quality assurance studies as assigned.

  • be flexible with adding new knowledge to recommendations, clinical responsibilities, schedule and coverage needs.

 Position requires special skills and knowledge in the fields of lifestyle medicine.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Must have valid State of California R.N./N.P. License.

Must have valid State of California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number.

Must have National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioners

Must have BLS (BAR).

Must be able to obtain medical staff privileges.

Must have (or pass within 2 years) LM board certification.
