Description |
In Eagle Pass, TX: Texas Association of Community Health Centers is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner OR Physician Assistant to work under the direction and responsible supervision of the assigned licensed physician(s) is responsible for providing high quality, comprehensive out-patient primary medical care services to United Medical Centers patients as determined and approved in the Delineation of Clinical Privileges and as per the rules and regulations established by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners or Texas Medical Board, Medical Bylaws, and clinical guidelines approved by United Medical Centers. Responsible for demonstrating the knowledge of the principles of growth and development over a life span. Must be able to identify and categorize each patient's age-specific group of needs, such as those for female adolescents and adults. Responsible for compliance with other requirements affecting the Medical Center, such as State/Federal regulations TJC, DSHS, HRSA and PCMH Compliance standards.
Job Overview:
- Accurately, timely, and effectively, examines, diagnoses, treats, prescribes and/or refers United Medical Centers patients as per rules and regulations of the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners or Texas Medical Board Scope of Practice, Medical Bylaws, the Medical Practice Act of Texas, and the United Medical Centers clinical Guidelines
- Effectively, timely, and accurately, issues written or oral prescriptions or medication orders for patients provided delegation of prescriptive authority has been approved and granted
- Effectively, timely, and accurately, assures continuity of care by providing comprehensive medical services for out-patient care within the scope of his/her training, capability, approved delineation of privileges and within the scope of supervision required
- Timely and efficiently, refers patients for appropriate specialty care services, such as laboratory and X-ray and any other service that is within the scope of the patient’s well being and services provided by United Medical Centers
- Effectively participates in Performance Improvement/Risk Management activities particularly those related to medical practice, including mechanism for pee
- Timely submits documents required for the re-credentialing and privileging process

This facility is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center providing primary health care services to both insured and uninsured patients in a bilingual, bicultural community since 1973. Higher learning consists of a branch of South West Texas Junior College and a branch of Sul Ross State University Rio Grande College out of Uvalde, Texas. There are also excellent medical and financial services available.
