Carilion Clinic is expanding its faculty of General Practice Residency-trained hospital dentists. This service was established in 1980 to serve special needs patients. In 2001, the service was expanded to include pediatric dental services for children with little or no access. Presently, Carilion Clinic employs three GPR-trained hospital dentists and two specialty trained pediatric dentists. Located on the campus of a 791-bed academic/tertiary medical center, the service has experienced steady growth and seeks to add a Dentist with special training and interest in providing comprehensive oral health care services in a stimulating and rewarding environment.
Minimum requirements include:
DDS/DMD degree from accredited dental school
Completion of an accredited GPR Residency
Interest in hospital-based dental practice, plus sedation skills desired
Current and unencumbered dental license and DEA
Eligible for Virginia dental license
Academic affiliation through Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine
