 Job Description

In Waco, TX: The Texas Association of Community Health Centers is seeking a full-time OBGYN Physician to perform comprehensive initial medical assessment and ongoing prenatal care in accordance with evidence-based guidelines.

Job Overview:

  • Perform women's health care examinations and provide basic GYN care, contraceptive and STD services according to clinical protocols
  • Identify high-risk patients, and refer to Maternal Fetal Medicine or to outside sources in accordance with clinical protocols
  • Work towards increasing effectiveness of the OB/GYN program in conjunction with the Medical Director and OB/GYN Director
  • Inpatient hospital responsibility with deliveries, surgeries and call coverage at Baylor Scott & White - Hillcrest
  • Serve as OB/GYN faculty for the Waco Family Medicine Residency
  • EHR: Epic

 Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited medical school with a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy
  • Current valid license to practice medicine in the State of Texas 
  • Current DPS and DEA certificates
  • Board eligibility in OB/GYN (ABOG, AOBOG) or board certification within 5 years of achieving initial eligibility and ongoing employment is contingent upon this.
  • Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association BLS required
  • Will Accept New Graduates
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) Preferred

 Client Overview

This health center, established in 1998, provides primary care services to residents of McLennan County. Currently, the organization operates 12 service delivery sites through which it provides patients with general primary care, dental services, on-site pharmacy services, laboratory and x-ray services, and emergency medical care.

Hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Patient care is largely outpatient with limited opportunities for employed physicians to provide inpatient care. This center's service area has received the health designations MUA and HPSA.
