    Carilion Internal Medicine - Crystal Springs, a 15-person group practice comprised of the teaching faculty of Carilion's Internal Medicine Residency Program, has two employment opportunities for general Internists. Work Monday-Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, and minimum of two two-week blocks per year on wards, or more if desired. Beeper call 1:12. Special interest or experience in oversight of Residency Continuity Clinic a plus.

    Carilion Clinic (formerly Carilion Health System) is headquarted in Roanoke, Virginia and services approximately one million people in western Virginia. We have embarked upon a journey to convert ourselves from a traditional healthcare system into a physician-led clinic model, much like other non-university affiliated clinics. Carilion is a healthcare organization with more than 500 physicians in a multi-specialty group practice and 8 not-for-profit hospitals. Carilion Clinic specializes in patient-centered care, medical education and clinical research, with a goal of providing the best possible health outcome and healthcare experience for each patient.

    The Carilion Medical Education Department consists of 10 residency programs and 3 fellowship programs. One hundred and seventy residents are enrolled in Carilion's residency programs: Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Transitional Year, General Surgery, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Combined Medicine/Psychiatry, Psychiatry, Osteopathic Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics and Otolaryngology, with three fellows in our Geriatric Medicine, Geriatric Psychiatry, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry programs. Carilion has a 35-year association with the University of Virginia and currently provides primary clinical training for one quarter of UVA's third-year medical students. Carilion is also affiliated with the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine and is offering training to osteopathic students, interns and residents. Our new medical school, Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, developed in conjunction with Virginia Tech welcome its inaugural class of 42 students in the fall of 2010.
