Offering an exceptional opportunity, Carilion Clinic (CC) and the Department of Surgery, Section of Urology in Roanoke, Virginia are searching for a urologist to join our growing team of six urologists in a clinic-based, academic program with remarkable prospects in teaching, research, and clinical urology. This is a great chance to join a dynamic, academic multi-specialty group practice providing comprehensive, multi-disciplinary care for adults and children. We are looking for a Roanoke based surgeon to care for patients in the outpatient office along with additional OR responsibilities supported by state-of-the-art technology, advanced diagnostic tools and treatment options including Da Vinci Robots (Xi, X, and SP), ultrasound, and MRI guided prostate biopsy. Based in the Level-1 763-bed trauma and academic health center, Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital/Carilion Children's Hospital, our program provides comprehensive urology coverage to over one million people in a large, rural, multi-state area. Urology services are also provided in several other Carilion hospitals including Carilion New River Valley Medical Center, Carilion Giles Community Hospital, and Carilion Rockbridge Community Hospital. The section operates clinics in five satellite locations in the region. Clinical pathology is exceptionally broad, and our urologists perform the full breadth of procedures of all levels of complexity. Carilion Clinic is a progressive, emerging leader in American healthcare dedicated to improving outcomes and enhancing value for every patient, while advancing the quality of care through medical education and research. A physician-led, multi-specialty, not-for-profit healthcare organization based in Roanoke, VA, Carilion Clinic operates 7 hospitals, 282 outpatient clinics, 788 physicians representing more than 75+ specialties, along with 350 residents and fellows in 29 accredited ACGME programs. Education and research activities and opportunities abound through our intimate relationships with the Virginia Tech Carillon School of Medicine (VTCSOM), the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute (FBRI) at VTC, Virginia Tech proper, and Radford University. We are actively involved in the education of medical students, residents from multiple CC-VTC training programs, allied health science students, and Virginia Tech undergraduate and graduate students. We currently provide clinical training for general surgery residents with the goal of establishing a urology residency program in the near future.
