The Carilion Clinic has an opening for a ABPN BE/BC Adult Psychiatrist to join the Saint Albans Psychiatric Center in Virginia's New River Valley. This region comprises the localities of Radford, Christiansburg, Blacksburg and smaller surrounding towns, with a total population of 175,000. Saint Albans includes both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services in Radford, Virginia at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center, a 100-bed acute-care medical center with 36 adult psychiatric beds, excellent interdisciplinary support, and a medical staff of over 300 physicians of multiple medical specialities. The inpatient unit opened in 2004 and includes an ECT suite, an intensive treatment section, geriatric observation, and garden walk. There are associated outpatient offices contiguous with the inpatient unit. Call coverage is shared with 7 other psychiatrists. Physician evening call is by telephone with midlevel providers on site.
Saint Albans is a training site for the new regional college of osteopathic medicine at Virginia Tech.

It is preferred that the candidate has a minimum of 3 years post-residency experience, ECT skills, and an interest in clinical, educational, or health services research in order to integrate such activity with the clinical practice.
The position includes a competitive base salary that is augmented with a substantial bonus for quality. There is additional compensation for meeting productivity targets and a comprehensive benefits package including relocation.
