Maine Medical Partners is seeking an Associate Medical Director for their Internal Medicine Outpatient Clinic at Maine Medical Center.

The Maine Medical Partners Internal Medicine Clinic is the primary outpatient teaching site for Maine Medical Center’s Internal Medicine Residency Program.  The Clinic, located in Portland, Maine, is the medical home for a culturally diverse population, in addition to providing specialty clinics in cardiology, dermatology and international medicine.

This fulltime position is an excellent opportunity for motivated Internal Medicine physicians interested in pursuing a career balancing clinical, academic and leadership roles.  The candidate will need to work well in a team environment, relate effectively with culturally diverse patients, and possess strong teaching, clinical and leadership skills.  The clinical portion of the position involves a mix of direct patient care and the precepting of Internal Medicine Residents.  Candidates must be BC/BE in Internal Medicine.

The successful candidate will be employed by Maine Medical Partners (MMP), a subsidiary of Maine Medical Center and Maine’s largest multi-specialty group.  MMP serves the health care needs of patients throughout Maine and Northern New England.  This high quality team of more than 375 physicians and 150 advanced practice professionals provides a wide range of hospital based, primary, specialty, and sub-specialty adult and pediatric care delivered throughout a network of 30 locations across the State and acts as a regional referral network.

Maine Medical Center has 637 licensed beds and is the state’s leading tertiary care hospital, with a full complement of residencies and fellowships and an integral part of Tufts University Medical School.  The candidate would have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine, and the position involves teaching and mentoring residents and medical students from the Maine Medical Center-Tufts University School of Medicine Medical School Program.
