Primary Duties include:
Performing histories, physicals and medical consults
Assessing patients´ condition
Initiating screening and diagnostic procedures
Administering treatment
Advising and counseling patients or legal guardians
Assisting physicians as directed
Daily patient rounds
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
Active and unrestricted Virginia Physician Assistant license and DEA certification
Must be eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with state regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Board of Medicine.
Must meet credentialing requirements and qualify for malpractice insurance and be accepted by Carilion Clinic's malpractice insurance carrier.
Current ACLS and PALS required.
