 Job Description

Loma Linda University Department of Medicine and Faculty Medical Group have immediate openings for full-time faculty candidates in the Infectious Diseases Division. Qualified candidates must be board certified/board eligible in Infectious Diseases. We welcome the application of Fellows and experienced physicians. 

Transplant Infectious Diseases

Heart, Kidney, Liver, Pancreas, and autologous HSCTs are performed at LLUMC. The program is growing. There are currently no dedicated Transplant ID physicians at LLUMC, where all transplant consults are done by General ID physicians.  The new hire will be involved in the development of a dedicated Transplant ID Service at LLUMC. We are looking for candidates who see themselves as inventive, flexible, and working well with a team. 

  1. FTE position for Transplant and Immunocompromised Patients. 2 positions are expected to become available. The candidate may focus on SOT or HSCT, or both.  

  • Roles
    • Reviewing and vetting pre- and post-transplant prevention and treatment  protocols
    • Inpatient consultations on transplant and immunocompromised patients
    • Screening transplant patients admitted to non-transplant services 
    • Education of Hospitalists admitting transplant and cancer patients
    • Stewardship education for Transplant Surgeons, and mid-level providers
    • Internal Quality reviews
    • Process improvement

  • Candidates, regardless of formal job description or division of labor, must demonstrate a passion for Antimicrobial Stewardship.
    • Formal Stewardship Training (ID Week) required pre- or post- employment.
  • Call is 1 in 4 to 1 in 6 weekdays, weekends, and holidays.  Call is shared by all ID physicians.
  • Limited coverage in General ID as needed
  • This positions may be adapted to 0.5 FTE Transplant and 0.5 FTE General ID 
  • Participation in student, resident, and graduate school education.
