Carilion Clinic–Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine is searching for an 8th full-time Acute Care Surgeon to join its existing faculty due to continued academic and scholarly growth and increased volumes at the Carilion Clinic. Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital is a 700+ bed academic/tertiary care medical center within the Carilion Clinic with Level 1 Trauma Program evaluating over 3000+ patients a year, 90% blunt and 10% penetrating. A 12-bed Neurotrauma ICU and a 12-bed Surgical ICU provides the only dedicated Surgical Critical Care service in the region.
The Acute Care Surgery Section divides their time between Trauma, Critical Care, and Emergency Surgery services. Clinical support is provided by a growing cadre of Advanced Clinical Providers (ACPs), surgical residents, and fellows on all three services within the Section of Acute Care Surgery. Our group emphasizes a team approach to comprehensive care and participates extensively in research, education, and quality processes. The hospital supports fully accredited ACGME Residency Programs in General Surgery, Neurological Surgery, Integrated Plastic Surgery, and Fellowships in Surgical Critical Care and an ACP Acute Care Surgery.
