 Job Description
  • Maine Eye Center, northern New England’s most comprehensive eye specialty practice located in Portland, Maine, is seeking a full-time Comprehensive Ophthalmologist.  The ideal candidate must have excellent surgical and interpersonal skills with an interest in providing high quality personalized care to patients in a well-established practice. Qualified candidate must be Board eligible or Board certified and has the desire for a long term relationship with an outstanding practice.  The successful candidate will be replacing a comprehensive ophthalmologist that currently performs 400-500 cataract surgeries per year.

Opportunity:

  • Thriving ten physician multi-specialty practice in Portland, Maine; including fellowship trained subspecialists in retina, cornea, glaucoma, oculoplastic and pediatrics/strabismus.
  • State-of-the-art equipment: OCT, Fundus Camera, IOL Master, Visual Field, Pentacam, Corneal Topographer, B Scan, Wave Scan, YAG laser, Femtosecond and Excimer Lasers, practice owned ASC, and a complete Optical Shop.
  • Practice includes locations connected by electronic health records, with Certified Ophthalmic Technicians, and excellent administrative and support staff.
  • Practice has a strong relationship with Maine Medical Center in Portland, the state’s leading tertiary care hospital and level one trauma center, with a full complement of residencies and fellowships and integrated with Tufts University Medical School.
  • Teaching programs and clinical trials ongoing within the practice.
