The Carilion Clinic is searching for a BE/BC Physiatrist to join its growing, established multi-specialty group of 4 physicians in Roanoke, Virginia on the campus of Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a 791-bed teaching/tertiary referral center with Level I Trauma, serving 1.5 million throughout southwest Virginia. Position available to practice primarily outpatient physical medicine with some inpatient coverage. The outpatient setting includes a strong focus on musculoskeletal treatment and EMG's with the opportunity for other rehab focus, neurological illness/injuries, amputees, spasticity, sports medicine, and general rehab diagnosis,. The outpatient setting will also involve a close working relationship with orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, and other specialties in a multispecialty clinic. The inpatient setting includes treatment of stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, and other general rehab diagnosis along with consults and follow up in our newly opened 34-private bed unit at Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital. Shared weekend call for the inpatient rehab unit 1:4, with beeper call from home. Physicians work in an interdisciplinary model with orthopedics and neurosurgery. Option to teach medical students and residents. Candidates with at least 1 year of experience with inpatient and outpatient work along with experience in musculoskeletal procedures is preferred, however graduating residents are also welcomed and encouraged to apply. Interest or experience with Neuro Rehab is a plus.
