Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Developmental Pediatrician to join our Division of Pediatric Neurology.
The Department of Pediatrics (Loma Linda University Health-LLUH), has a unique opportunity for a Board Certified Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrician. LLUH is interested in a dynamic and collaborative Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrician who will: (1) coordinate the LLUH Department of Pediatrics Developmental Behavioral Residency rotation; and (2) be the Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician in an innovative Inland Empire Autism Assessment Center of Excellence (AAC). This is a 100% full time position within the Division of Child Neurology (Department of Pediatrics) with 50% time devoted to clinical care in the AAC, 30% time with clinical care in Neurology clinics and 20% time devoted to directing and training in the Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics residency rotation.
The Department of Pediatrics has ~180 attending physicians and ~100 pediatric residents. A new LLU Children's Hospital will open in 2020 and the current Children’s Hospital has ~300 beds including a 16 bed ED, 25 bed PIICU, 24 bed Intermediate Care Unit, 90 bed NICU (that includes our Neuro-NICU), and 140 additional beds in 5 pediatric units. The Division of Child Neurology consists of 14 pediatric neurologists (4 are pediatric epileptologists), and 7 neuropsychologists. As part of residency program, there is a one-month rotation in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. This person taking this position will serve to oversee the Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics Residency rotation. Clinical research is encouraged.
The AAC is a new center which provides specialized transdisciplinary comprehensive assessment for children when there are questions regarding the potential of an Autism Spectrum Disorder. The AAC brings together a transdisciplinary team including 3 pediatric specialties: Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics, Pediatric Neurology and Genetics with Neuropsychology, Occupational therapy, Speech/Language therapy and other relevant professionals under one roof to deliver the best outcomes and quality of life for patients.
