Carilion Clinic Neurosurgery is looking to add an exceptional Neurosurgeon to its rapidly growing team of 8 Neurosurgeons and 10 Advanced Care Practitioners (ACP's). We are an academic practice with remarkable opportunities in teaching, research, and clinical neurosurgery. Based in the level one trauma center Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke Virginia, our team provides neurosurgical coverage to over 1 million people in a large, rural, multi-state area. Pathology is broad and plentiful and opportunities exist for the development of sub-specialty service lines. We run a highly successful Osteopathic Neurosurgery Residency. We are actively involved in the education of medical students from the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Virginia Tech- Carilion School of Medicine (on our campus). We collaborate with researchers at The Virginia Tech- Carilion Institute of Research (on our campus). We are also actively involved in undergraduate education with the Virginia Tech School of Neurosciences.
We are looking for an endovascular trained cerebrovascular neurosurgeon who has an interest in research, education, and a desire to help extend exceptional care to the region. They should be interested and comfortable with state of the art care of cerebrovascular disorders and stroke. They will enjoy exceptional facilities and a multidisciplinary collaborative approach to cerebrovascular care. Applicants should have a strong desire to be involved in resident and medical student education.
Carilion Clinic features more than 680 physicians, seven not-for-profit hospitals including Carilion Roanoke Memorial a 703 bed teaching/tertiary care center with Level 1 Trauma and 240 practice sites. In 2007, Carilion Clinic partnered with Virginia Tech to create the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Research Institute and the first class of doctoral candidates began course work in August 2010.
