Description |
** Breast Imaging Radiologist - No Call, No Weekends, No Holidays **
Carilion Clinic is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Radiologist with fellowship training in breast imaging to join the breast imaging program at the Carilion Breast Care Center in Roanoke, Virginia.
Approximately 33,000 screening mammogram exams are performed each year at Carilion facilities. Tomosynthesis enabled digital mammography systems are installed at all screening and diagnostic locations.
Required procedures include:
- Screening mammograms (¿with and without tomosynthesis)
- Diagnostic mammograms (¿with and without tomosynthesis)
- ¿Diagnostic ultrasound
- US Invasive procedures: core needle biopsy, needle wire ¿localization, ¿SAVI SCOUT placement, and cyst aspiration
- Stereotactic ¿and tomosynthesis guided core biopsy
- ¿Stereotactic guided SAVI SCOUT placement
- Galactography
- Breast MRI
- MR guided core biopsies
This position would be located at the Breast Care Center in Roanoke where diagnostic breast imaging services and procedures are performed. Screening exams from multiple screening facilities would also be interpreted from the Breast Care Center.
This position would include participation in multidisciplinary benign and malignant breast conferences. Three dedicated breast surgeons are part of the breast cancer team in Roanoke. Diagnostic radiologists, interventional radiologists, plastic/reconstructive surgeons, oncologists, radiation oncologists, genetics counselors, and breast cancer patient navigators are also part of the Carilion comprehensive breast cancer team.
All Roanoke based Carilion Radiologists receive an academic appointment at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. Light teaching responsibilities for medical students and non-radiology residents is expected. Participation in multidisciplinary research is encouraged but not a requirement.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of Fellowship training in Breast Imaging, required
- Board Certified/Board Eligible, American Board of Radiology/American Osteopathic Board of Radiology, required
