Carilion Clinic is seeking additional Pulmonary/ Critical Care/ Sleep physicians for its growing department of Pulmonary/Critical Care/Environmental and Sleep Medicine. While Sleep Medicine training is not mandatory, it is desirable. The ideal candidate will have a track record demonstrating her/his interest in academic and research medicine with a desire to be part of our Fellowship and Medical School Faculty.
This is a clinical/academic position with responsibilities to cover ICU as well as inpatient and outpatient pulmonary services. Roanoke Memorial Hospital is a tertiary referral center where you will have a varied array of interesting pathology. The department is heavily involved in teaching, and all our physicians have appointments through the new VTC Medical School. Our ACGME accredited Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship is also part of the section and was recently expanded to 3 fellows per year. The faculty is composed of 11 individuals, and we cover all areas of pulmonary medicine, including Interventional Pulmonology. We also run the area's largest network of accredited Sleep Centers. Additionally, we have a long standing tradition in the area of bedside ultrasonography, with Carilion Clinic being recognized as a national leader in this field.
Sophisticated resources include state-of -the-art ICU equipment, EBUS, navigational bronchoscopy and rigid bronchoscopy, and an over 700 + acute-care bed hospital, the second largest hospital in Virginia. Additionally, we have an advanced EMR for outpatient connectivity and communication to other Carilion practices. A newly opened and very large outpatient clinic allows for an excellent work environment, housing also one of our comprehensive pulmonary function testing facilities.

Qualifications:
- ABMS/AOA - Prior BC in Internal Medicine
- Fellowship training in Pulmonary/ Critical Care Medicine with board eligibility/certification in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
