The Adult Trauma Center at Maine Medical Center is seeking a BC/BE General Surgeon who is BE/BC in Surgical Critical Care to join the division of Acute Care Surgery. The successful candidate will have completed a fellowship in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care and/or Acute Care Surgery and have a strong interest in emergency general surgery.

Maine Medical Center has 637 licensed beds and is the state’s leading tertiary care hospital, admitting 1700 trauma patients, 600+ Critical Care patients, and 1600 emergency general surgery patients annually.  This position offers participation in care of surgical ICU patients with excellent subspecialty support.  Pre-hospital trauma care is provided by both helicopter and ground-based units.

The position involves teaching and mentoring surgical residents and medical students from the Maine Medical Center-Tufts University School of Medicine Medical School Program, and the candidate would have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine.
